As far as any awkward movements, PtoPOnline's host Andrew Borman says that this was a long way from being finished. It sounds like the game was only in development for a year, as opposed to Oni's 3. Also, since this is apparently a PS2 game, we should probably compare its controls to the clumsy controls of Oni for the PS2, not the PC version that we prefer. I don't have much time to really delve into this since real life is crazy for me right now, but I will be nibbling away at this, analyzing the video for a while to come.
Unfortunately, it seems that Oni 2 was anything but that certain. Check out the Anniversary Edition Seven at ae. I wonder what they wanted to do with the story, I get the impression that it's a future where humanity adapted and we fixed things up quickly but there's still some Syndicate influence there, I guess it's not bad but it wouldn't have been as interesting as seeing the decaying world caused by Muro, this feels a little too far ahead of that, also designs are really lacking in some areas, especially the enemies.
Oni IRC Kumite! I think a lot of this is probably to do with the fact that this game was super early. Had we seen Oni 1 at this state, it probably wouldn't have looked much better.
I also had someone link me to a post on another forum of the 'leak'. I haven't gotten it to work in an emulator yet, and my PS2 isn't modded, so I can't tell you how it'd play. The game indeed looks weird and is very different from the original.
Especially in art style. It may be a very early stage of development which could explain some of these. If I understood correctly the development team was also different which can explain some of these differences. Jon, do you have access to Parallels or VM Fusion?
I have found that running an emulator there will work better, than one in macOS. I have bootcamp, but parallels runs really poorly on this computer. I guess i should boot into windows and try again. In , the rumor of a cancelled sequel was bolstered by a leak which asserted that Oni 2 had been under development by Angel Studios for the PS2. In , the full story finally came out when an actual development build of the cancelled game was leaked, documented by PtoPOnline, and covered by Kotaku. At this time, interviews with former developers revealed that the game had started development at the beginning of or even late , which might mean that its development overlapped with Oni's.
Since the development build is dated Dec. After all that time, it was apparently not even close to completion. The project suffered from a lack of clear direction, and when Angel was acquired by Rockstar and renamed as Rockstar San Diego in , Oni 2 was cancelled in favor of other projects.
Since Angel almost exclusively developed racing games at the time Oni 2 was started, it's difficult to understand why T2 assigned them a third-person brawler with a heavy focus on bipedal animation.

Elruna 2 points. I don't know why I didn't search for this game earlier. I remember finding a CD with Oni demo on it as a kid and being surprised at how smooth and varied the combat was. I wish more games these days had that top center 3rd person instead of the side. God, I sounded old. I have been addicted to this till now.
Wait what 4 points. Downloaded the game and the AE and the game opens, but when I try to play, any movement of the mouse sends me spinning in clockwise circles and I can't look around. Any tips? Installed it on Windows 10 platform and game had trouble starting. Installed the anniversary edition located below in the comments and happily after installing it ran like a charm!
After 20 years year by year I compared every game experience with ONI, no one ever matched, I do not understand why this game never became popular? Greasy 3 points. I loved this game so much. I especially loved using the cheat that let you play as enemy characters. I'm surprised that this game has been forgotten, so here's hoping I can make it work.

Shredder -1 point. Ay, ive played many games, since my first memories starting with doom - quake 2 and action quake 2 mod but without a doubt this game is one of the best ive ever found, i think on limewire one day i clicked games one day and clicked Oni.
